Find out what notification emails are sent to various document participants.

Sender

  1. The document opened by a recipient for the first time or document is opened by a recipient every time.

  2. The document is completed by a recipient.

  3. The document is completed (completed and paid if it has a payment app) by all.

  4. Signed copy notification with a .pdf file of the completed document attached - if the feature is enabled.

  5. A message is posted in chat.

  6. The suggested edits or comments are added.

  7. The document has been forwarded to another email address.

  8. The document has been declined.

  9. The document has been reported as spam.

  10. Any messages or notifications for documents that were sent on the sender's behalf.

Note:

Once you publish the form, you become the form owner. All notifications of completed documents will be sent to your email. In case the notifications should be sent to another user, they can become the form owner by duplicating or republishing it.

Access notification settings to adjust the notifications you are receiving as a sender.

Signer

  1. “[Sender name] sent you a document”.

  2. The document has been completed (completed and paid if it has a payment app) by all.

  3. Signed copy notification with a .pdf file of the completed document attached - if the feature is enabled. In this case, notification number 2 won’t be sent.

  4. A comment is posted.

CCed recipient

  1. “[Sender name] sent you a document”.

  2. The document has been completed (completed and paid if it has a payment app) by all.

  3. Signed copy notification with a .pdf file of the completed document attached - if the feature is enabled. In this case, notification number 2 won’t be sent.

  4. A message is posted in chat.

Note:

If you sent a document and add yourself as a CC recipient, you will still get notifications even if they are disabled under Settings > Notifications.

Collaborator

  1. [PandaDoc user name] invited you to collaborate on a document or folder.

  2. A new inline comment or chat message is posted (if the collaborator is @mentioned).

Note:

If a collaborator is also a document recipient, their notifications will vary based on their role as a Signer or CCed recipient.
