You and your teammates can easily add custom products to the quote builder or edit products added from the catalog.
Note:
Custom products and changes applied to products in quote builder won’t be saved in the product catalog.
How to turn on custom products in quote builder
Note:
Only account owners and users with an Admin or Manager role can turn product editing on/off. By default, this option is turned off in all quotes.
Start by clicking on quote builder, then select Edit quote on the floating panel. Next, select the gear icon and turn on the Custom products in quotes toggle. Once you do this, both Create custom products and Edit existing products toggles will be turned on. You can leave them both turned on, or switch off Create custom products to prevent users from creating new products.
How to add custom products to quote builder
Note:
Custom products added to quote builder can’t automatically be saved to the catalog. Want to be able to save products to your catalog? Please vote for this idea in our Idea Portal.
Once Create custom products option is turned on for quote builder, select +Product under the quote’s section and fill out line item cells with the required product information. The following info can be added directly into the cells:
Product name
Price
Quantity
Cost
Contract term
Discount, fee, tax, multiplier
Custom fields
Note:
The maximum title length is 500 characters.
Note:
A SKU will be generated automatically if left empty.
Hover over a product name, then click the expand icon to add a product description, product image, modify pricing method and billing frequency, or product bundles. Next, select Save.
How to edit products in quote builder
Once you’ve added custom products or products from the catalog, you can customize them inside quote builder if the Edit existing products toggle is turned on.
Simply edit cell values with the needed value. The following info can be edited directly in the cells:
Product name
Price
Quantity
Cost
Contract term
Discount, fee, tax, multiplier
Custom fields
Hover over a product name, then click the expand icon to update a product description, product image, modify pricing method and billing frequency, or product bundles. Next, select Save.
Note:
You’ll be unable to change SKU and currency in quote builder.
