Data-import integration with Lever allows you to pre-populate PandaDoc documents with data from Lever to easily send and esign them. This integration works with the Opportunity object in Lever.

Skip to:

Connect Lever to Workato

Workato is a third-party connector for PandaDoc <> Lever data-import integration. Follow these steps to connect Lever to Workato:

  1. In Lever, go to ”Integration & API” > “OAuth”

  2. Under “Required Scopes” select “Contact write admin”, “Offers read admin”, “Opportunities write admin”, “Postings write admin”, “Stages read admin”

Once done, you’ll get “Client ID” and “Client secret”. Save them for the next step.

Connect Lever to your PandaDoc account

Note:

You must be a Lever admin to connect it to your PandaDoc account.

  1. In PandaDoc, go to Settings > Integrations

  2. Click on Lever tile and select Connect

  3. In the modal window, select “Oauth2” as Authentication type, select your environment, fill in saved Client ID and Client secret, select required permissions (“Contact write admin”, “Offers read admin”, “Opportunities write admin”, “Postings write admin”, and “Stages read admin”) and click Connect

  4. Finally, log in to your Lever account

Set up templates to pull information from Lever

Import field values from Lever via variables

Pre-set a PandaDoc template with variables that will pull information from Lever each time you create a new document from this template.

  1. Open your template (click here to learn how to create a new one) in PandaDoc

  2. Click on Lever app on the right panel

  3. Select View related variables. You will see a list of available variables corresponding to a Lever opportunity’s fields. Copy and paste these variables with the square brackets into your template

Import field values Lever via fields

You can pass data into PandaDoc fields similarly to how variables operate. Unlike with variables, however, you must not include square brackets.

  1. In your template, go to the Variables tab and scroll down to Lever variables

  2. Copy the variable without square brackets

  3. Click on a field in your template and select Properties on the floating panel

  4. Paste the copied variable into the “Merge field”

Once you create and send the document, the recipient will see the pre-filled data and will be able to update this field, provided the field has been assigned to them.

Create a document

  1. When in your template, select Use this template at the top right to create a document

  2. Click on the opportunity record you need and select Link. Please note, you need to type the full email address of the opportunity contact to find it using the search bar

    Note:

You’ll be unable to find and link opportunities that have no offers.

  3. In the next pop-up, assign recipients to roles and click Continue (select Skip to add recipients later)

Once your document is created, variables will be populated with information from Lever.

You can easily refresh data in the document if information in Lever was updated or link it to another opportunity record.

To link a document to another opportunity:

  1. Go on Lever app on the right panel

  2. Click the Unlink (click Link document if your document wasn’t created from a pre-set template)

  3. Select the opportunity you want to link the document to and click Link

    Note:

You’ll be unable to find and link opportunities that have no offers.

To update information in your document:

  1. Go to your Lever object and update the information

  2. Then go back to your PandaDoc document

  3. Click on Lever app on the right

  4. Select Refresh data

Note:

You can use Refresh data only in a draft document.
